It’s good to be back blogging again. I had to take a couple days off because I was sick with a bad head cold. I have a compromised autoimmune system so colds hit me pretty hard. But I am much better now and ready to get this one done. For those of you just joining us, please feel free go back and read the previous blogs. So far, I have worked through the last days, chronologically, comparing scripture with the last 100-120 years of earth’s history. Today I will share the results of having the mark of the beast or the seal of God. Then I will cover prophecy from the time of the marking/sealing up to Jesus’ 2nd Coming.
Let’s pray! Heavenly Father, we count it a privilege to come before Your throne, asking forgiveness for where we fall short, seeking Your saving grace, and calling upon Your power to overcome the darkness that is surrounding us. Let the light of Your Spirit guide us into all truth and understanding as we delve into Your Word today. We ask this, knowing as You have led us in the past, You will continue to lead us now at this most crucial time in history. Give us robes of righteousness and eye salve so we may see clearly that Your ways are perfect and lead to everlasting life. In Jesus holy name, Amen!
In the last full blog, I shared scripture concerning the mark of the beast. In Revelation 14:9-11, scripture tells us not to receive the mark of the beast, for those that do, have given their allegiance to Satan and are bound to the fate of their sins. Those that refuse the mark have their names sealed in the Book of Like in Heaven. So, at the time of the marking/sealing, all living people will have made their choice – a choice that no longer can be changed. “Let the one who does wrong continue to do wrong; let the vile person continue to be vile; let the one who does right continue to do right; and let the holy person continue to be holy.” (Revelation 22:11)
We have established why it is so important not to receive the mark of the beast. But, I think there are still a couple very important aspects we still need to cover. What will be the clues leading up to this time of marking/sealing? What context will be used to dictate the giving of the mark of the beast.
This time, when people are tied to their fate, “calls for patience endurance of the part of the people of God who keep the commandments of God and their faith in Jesus.” (Revelation 14:12) By this text, we know that we who are seal for God, will keep His commandments and have faith in Jesus saving grace – His sacrifice on Mt Calvary. There will come a time (I believe very soon) when powers that be will try to forced us to set aside one of God’s commandment and denounce Jesus as our personal Savior. We need to be watching to see which of the 10 commandments will become a big issue in the last days. The first 4 commandments are about our relationship with God and the last 6 are about our relationship with our neighbors. I am convinced the issue will be over one or more of the first 4 commandments.
- You shall have no other gods before Me.
- You shall make no idols.
- You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain.
- Keep the Sabbath day holy.
“And he (Satan/beast) shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws:” (Daniel 7:25) (Remember, the Book of Daniel contains many visions and prophecies about the history of the world and last day events) Even if you look at all 10 commandments, there is only one commandment that talks about time – the 4th commandment. But, some may say, Jesus did away with the 10 commandments. Jesus summed up the 10 commandments, paraphrasing them by saying love God with all your heart and mind and love your neighbor as you do yourself. In essences, He broke them into two parts – relationship with God and relationship with others. But, Jesus did not do away with the 10 commandments. “This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, says the Lord: (Jesus) I will put My laws into their hearts, and in their minds I will write them,” (Hebrews 10:16) The text in Hebrews, given by Jesus after His ascension, includes all people who give their heart to Jesus – Jews and Gentiles alike. This passage is still applicable today. The Bible as a whole, was written as a document of God related events down through history and a message to God’s last day people.
When the date and time of the marking of the beast is set to take place, it will be a world wide event. “Revelation 13:16 says that during the Tribulation all people must receive a mark on their right hand or on their foreheads in order to buy or sell. This is called “the mark of the beast”. This beast represents the next world empire. So the mark of the beast identifies you as a faithful follower of the next world empire.” (hightimetoawake.com) We have all heard talk about a New World Order and recently, articles and statements about cyber-currency. They can be called by different names, but the concepts are the same. Our religious and political leaders are moving toward one world government and doing away with cash currency. Pope Francis has set up a conference to bring the world together on common concerns for the future. “The Global Pact is not limited to educational and academic institutions but rather, in the belief that commitment to education must be shared by all, involves representatives of religions, international bodies and the various humanitarian institutions, of the academic, economic, political and cultural world. The Congregation for Catholic Education announces that the Global Compact on Education will take place from 11-18 October 2020.” (vaticannews.va/en/vatican-city/news/2020-03/global-compact-on-education-event)
On the surface, this all sounds like a good idea, but scripture speaks to the contrary. When studying the Book of Daniel, we learn that there would never be a world power after the Roman Empire. I will cover this topic, in more detail, at a later time. But if you read about the statue that King Nebuchadnezzar had dreams about, you will discover the feet make of iron and clay. This indicated that, after the legs or iron, the world would be a mixture of strong and weak nations under their own leadership and not control by one body of government.
There is one more bit of evidence/detail that I want to share. In past blogs, I covered Matthew 24 and I would like to return to a verse in that chapter. First let me preface with verse 14, “And this Gospel of the Kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.” I believe we are in that time. The Elijah Message is in motion, churches are experiencing revival, families are coming back together with Jesus in the center, the Gospel is being shared with the world. Media and telecommunications has advance our efforts to reach the world for Jesus. Christians are being persecuted, being scoffed at, ridiculed and not being able to gather together in worship. The Latter Rain – massive outpouring of the Holy Spirit – and the marking and sealing are just around the corner.
Then, in Matthew 24:15, we are told, “So when you see standing in the holy place (God’s law) the abomination (Satan and his minions) that causes desolation, spoken of through the prophet Daniel – let the reader understand.” This is referring to when we will know that a date, time, and theme (which commandment) has been set for the enforcement of the mark of the beast.
So, once that date and time arrives and we are marked or sealed, what happens next? Revelation chapters 15 and 16 describe the events. In these chapters, John the Beloved is shown 7 angels carrying the Bowls of Wrath – the 7 last plagues. I won’t go into detail about each one because they are described in the picture below. But I do want to dispel any anxiety or fear you may have about them. In order to do that, I want to go back to Moses’ time when he led God’s people out of Egypt. “Now the blood shall be a sign for you on the houses where you are. And when I see the blood, I will pass over you; and the plague shall not be on you to destroy you when I strike the land of Egypt.” (Exodus 12:13) They put blood on the door post – we have the blood of Jesus blotting out our transgressions. We will not be subject to the plagues or feel the pain of them. We will witness them and that will not be easy. As a matter of fact, it will be heartbreaking to witness.
“Because Satan hates God, he desires all men and women to receive his mark rather than God’s seal. When every human being has chosen between the mark of the beast and the seal of God, the plagues will fall. All who knowingly accept the allegiance of the beast, substituting a human decree for the divinely inspired commandments of God, will be recipients of the seven last plagues. The word “Armageddon” comes from the Hebrew “Har Megiddo,” meaning mountain of assembly. During one of Israel’s greatest crises, when it appeared that doom was certain, God intervened and sent reinforcements at precisely the right moment (Judges 5:19). During the last days of earth’s history, infuriated by the plagues, the whole world will be turned into a vast battlefield as the wicked attempt to destroy God’s people. It will appear as if their doom is certain.” (www.itiswritten.com) I really like the way the events between the marking/sealing and the 2nd Coming, are describe here. It will seem as though we are doomed, but as God intervened on Israel’s behalf, Jesus will come in the clouds of glory to save us from Satan’s intend to destroy us all. We will be redeemed by Jesus, He will catch us up in the clouds, along with the dead in Jesus, and we will go to Heaven with Him. Amen!
Work for the day is coming when we will work no more – sharing the gospel will soon end. Now is the time to reach family and friends, the struggling and lost souls, those crying out in the darkness of despair. Pray and share Jesus while we are able, lead all those you meet and through telecommunications those you don’t, to the foot of the Cross. Lead them there again and again, so they may learn at the feet of our Savior. Sow seeds in abundance so when we lead them to the foot of the Cross, Jesus can bring them to fruition.
Until next time, May Jesus in His loving mercy carry you through this terrible time and give you hope in His promises. He will deliver us! (Revelation 16:17-21)
