01/22/2021 – Quick Recap!

Hi everyone, can you believe I am finally back to blogging. The last month and a half have been tough on me. I shared with you, that I was out of town because of the loss of a family member. By the time I got home, after lots of emotions and paperwork, etc, I wasn’t feeling very well. I have fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue, so when I am on the go everyday for an extended period of time, I usually crash for several days afterward. I appreciate your prayers and glad to be back on my game again. Let’s continue to raise each other in prayer, thanks.

Before we recap and catch up on what is happening in the USA and around the world, let’s pray. 🙏 Father God, so much has happened since my last blog, events that I believe further support my series of blogs. As we see what is going on around us and compare what we read in Biblical prophecy, it is becoming more evident that Jesus’ return is eminent. Even at the door. Life has become so confusing and uncertain that it is hard to know who we can trust, so we turn to You, our Savior and Redeemer. We know that we can find truth and comfort in You. Guide us by Your will and through Your might, in Jesus’ name we pray, Amen!

For those of us that love the Lord, His soon return is joyous news, a breath of fresh air, and a force that drives us on to deepen our relationship with Jesus, the author and finisher of our work. Yet there is the constant war raging in our minds, the battle with Satan as he tried to control our life, our choices, our will. He has studied us and knows our weaknesses, when and how to attack, and he is relentless. Jesus is our only refuse, our only hope in defeating Satan’s pull and his deceitful ways. Yes, Satan will battle for supremacy as long as we have breath, but when we stand firmly with Jesus, he is no match for the power that emanates from within us.

As we have studied in Matthew 24, Jesus laid out the events of the final days of earth’s history – wars, rumors of wars, famine, pestilence, earthquakes, breakdown of the family structure, abounding evil, ungodliness, false doctrine, false christs, etc. And He tells us that these are not new events but will continue to increase in intensity and frequency as we draw closer to the time of the end. Just reflect upon the numbers of hurricanes we has this last season. Louisiana was hit over and over again. Crime, riots, murders continues to rise at alarming rates, and Christianity is scorned by many.

Jesus needs us to understand the utter devastation that sin has wrought upon us – there has to be no shadow of a doubt that sin does not work so that none of us would EVER want to repeat this journey through the shadow of the valley of death again. God needs to allow us to comprehend just how evil sin is so that we will never want to repeat Eve’s mistake and put humans through this tragedy ever again. Satan lied to Eve – “surely you will not die.” And he still perpetuates that same lie today. “Surely you will not die” Genesis 3:4 – instead you will go immediately to heaven or hell. This is not what God, in His word, tells us. Search the Scriptures to see what they say. I will cover this topic in depth soon. (I’m side tracking a little and need to get back on topic.) Satan’s persuasive lie tricked Eve and her act of disobedience to God brought approximately 6000 years of sorrow upon us.

The wages of sin is death – the second, eternal death. (Romans 6:23) So how are we able to resist the tempter and have eternal life? What monumental act of love guarantees eternal life to all that seek and surrender to the perfect will of God? From where does our pardon come? About 2000 years ago, the Godhead enacted the most humbling and precious gift ever bestowed on those made in His image. God sent His only son, to lower Himself below the angels, and became a human. Jesus left His Godly throne, was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, grew up to give the Gospel to a dying world, and then died the most horrendous, humiliating death to become our sin offering. Upon the cross of Calvary, Jesus took upon Himself the sins of the world – my sins, your sins, every sin down through history – then suffered the agonizing separation from God as He drew His last breath, not knowing if His sacrifice was acceptable. Lord Jesus, how can I not be deeply moved to repentance and love for this unfathomable gift, Amen!

Just as we are powerless to pay our own wages for sin, we are powerless – through our own efforts – to walk in complete obedience to the Commandment of God and the Testimony of Jesus Christ. (Revelation 12:17) Yet we have an Advocate, a Savior, and a High Priest that will stand before God in our stead, redeeming us unto Himself, if we will but sincerely repent of our sins and surrender completely to His power to work in and through us. (1st John 2:1)

Every day, throughout the day, we must die of self and be reborn, refresh, made perfect to the abiding love of Jesus. We must selflessly lay aside all our trophy sins – our pet sins, our sinful pleasures – at the foot of the cross. Then take up that cross and follow Jesus wherever He leads us -to the victories, to influencing souls, to help the broken hearted, the sick, the lost, the mountains high and the valleys low. Always acknowledging that with Jesus all things are possible, (Matthew 19:26) always remembering that you and Jesus make an army again the evil ones. Jesus made the choice to put aside his Godly crown for my sake, our sake – by the Power of God I choose to surrender myself to His gift of eternal life with Him.

I pray that as the woes of sin continue to increase that our prayers and fellowship with Jesus in His word will continue to grow and flourish. So be it Jesus, Amen!

Please leave questions and comments below. I would love to hear from you and take our fellowship to a new level. Prayerfully consider opening up more dialogue with me. God bless!

Until next blog, my God find you steadfast in your desire to have a covenant relationship with Him. (Genesis 9:9)
