01/26/2021 – The Root of the Evil Tree

Hi Everyone! I am so glad to be back with all of you and blogging again. God is good! Today, I want to look at the prevailing school of thought among Christians, as it relates to current events. But before we get started, let’s pray.

πŸ™ Father God, we come before you this day, repenting of our sins and asking for the covering of Christ’s righteousness. We need Your wisdom and understanding concerning end time events so that we do not stumble and lose our way. Show, in Your Word, the true message to Your people. We thank and praise You, for You guide us in all our ways. In Jesus saving name, Amen!

I make it a point to stay relatively up to date on current events. In my research, I do not go to the mainstream media because I believe the majority of the reporters do not represent the truth and often hide truthful events from the public. The citizen journalists, wanting to preserve our freedoms, I have chosen to follow have demonstrated that they love the Lord – their demeanor, self-control, and mannerisms speak to their faith. This is of key importance to my choice of research connections, but I also look for people that have direct connections with people in the know. It took me a few months to locate the group of people I follow and am confident that I am getting the gist of what is actually going on by praying for understanding and looking for the common thread running throughout their updates. It is through listening to their podcast and following the Patriots on social media that I am consistently coming across thoughts that concern me.

For all intents and purposes, I would probably be considered a Christian Patriot. I profess Jesus first and the constitution of the United States second. I fully embrace the freedoms our country and constitution are based on and believe the power should be with the people. Right now, our country is divided – those that want freedom – Patriots, and those – through the evil influence of Satan – that want to control the people and take our rights away.

The battle between the two groups of this divided country has been going on behind the scenes for many decades. However, in the past year, it has come to light on social media platforms and select news stations such as Newsmax, OAN, etc. This battle has gotten world wide recognition because the outcome of our country will decide the fate of the whole world.

So what exactly am I struggling with in the course of these events? It is important, especially to Christians, that freedom of rights, democracy, a nation ruled by its people, must win this battle. It is the only course that would allow us to continue to spread the Gospel to all the world, to our loved ones and friends. Were it to go the other way, a socialist/communist society would stifle and endanger our efforts. So my vote is that the Patriots win. It is the prevailing thoughts concerning this outcome that concern me.

It is very heartwarming, the number of Patriots that pray, share scriptures, and words of encouragement. I love this part of my research and I often post scriptures and prayers as well. The general belief is that God is in control and He will see us through. Those of you that follow what is going on in social media will know to what I am referring. Many Patriots express their great desire to see our world at peace, where there will be no more wars, child trafficking, violence, and mayhem. Some have even stated that they look forward to “Heaven on earth,” a “utopia,” and an end to the evil in this world. While these thoughts are awe inspiring, they are not Biblical.

The Bible prophecy of Revelation tells us that Heaven will not settle on this earth until all evil – Satan, his fallen angels, and all mankind that has wandered after the beast, are destroyed forever. “Then death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. The lake of fire is the second death. Anyone whose name was not found written in the book of life was thrown into the lake of fire.” (Revelation 20:14-15) “Then I saw “a new heaven and a new earth,” for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea. I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, ‘Look! God’s dwelling place is now among the people, and he will dwell with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’ or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.’ ” (Revelation 21:1-4) Jesus is telling us that there will never be true peace – no Heaven on earth – until sin is utterly wiped from existence, from the face of the universe.

Let’s think about this logically. Let’s say that all the wicked people, those that have conscientiously chosen to follow Satan, are brought to justice and their evil regime is shut down. That would work for a while, but then what happens when Satan and his angels start whispering in the ears of those that will listen – making them promises of wealth, power, etc? Tempting them just as Jesus was tempted. It would take awhile, maybe a few hundred years or so and we would be right back where we started. As long as Satan and sin is alive there can be no peace on earth, no utopia. As long as Satan, the root of the evil tree is alive, than he can grow a new following. Sin and all its actors must be totally eradicated before God’s children can have true Heaven on earth – before the whole universe can have peace.

This is why God’s plan is so perfect. In the book of Matthew, we are told that all these current events would take place in the last days and the culminating event would be the return of Jesus in the clouds of glory. The story of His coming is laid out (in part or whole) in books such as Daniel, Isaiah, Thessalonians, and Revelation. Actually, the whole Bible is about this very outcome. Soon, Jesus will come in the clouds of glory and call His people – dead and living – up into the clouds to meet Him in the air. (1st Thessalonians 4:16-17)

“Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.” (Ephesians 6:10-11) If you read on through verse 18 you will discover that the armor consists of a belt – truth, a breastplate – righteousness, foot gear – readiness, a shield – faith, and a helmet – salvation. Each piece of armor is obtained through studying the Bible through the power of the Holy Spirit. Our connection with our Lord and Savior is our only hope. If Jesus does not stand with us we will not be aware of the spiritual battle waging around us, we will not be aware of the way Satan preys on our minds to destroy us, we open ourselves to deceit and lies that would remove us from Jesus and salvation.

Until our next blog, may God equip you with the full armor, Amen!
